About Three Five Right

Runway three-five-right is the primary runway for Centennial Airport (APA) in Englewood, Colorado. It holds special significance for Brandon as he and his family spent countless hours sitting at a hidden location just to the south of the runway watching planes land and takeoff, listening to airport communications, taking pictures, and just talking about aviation. Brandon was surprised by his family on his birthday one year at Centennial Airport with a flight in "Aluminum Overcast", an authentic WWII B-17 bomber. There was absolutely nothing like sitting in the bombardier seat of a B-17 and looking out of the nose while listening and feeling the vibrations of the four "Wright R-1820 Cyclone 9" radial engines... all while flying around the mountains of Colorado at low altitude under beautiful blue skies. That magical day was capped off with a perfect landing on three-five-right.
